Long-time actress, donor, and location manager for Angelwood Pictures, Maureen Vlaco, will be honored with the James R. Zuckerman Special Achievement Award at the 2017 Angelwood Pictures’ Angel Awards on Saturday, June 3.
Vlaco is being honored for her passion, dedication, and commitment to supporting Angelwood Pictures. Since 2011, Vlaco has been an intricate part of the production company’s history.
She has appeared in almost all of the productions including Red Circles (Dr. Gene Avery), World’s Worst Director (Emma), In the Bedroom (Wife), Family Problems (M.E. Marsha Hette), Testing (The Godmother), and will also be appearing as Rachael Goldstein in Code 13: Unreadable. She was also nominated for the 1st Annual Angel Award for Best Guest Actress for her role in “In the Bedroom”.
Vlaco has also appeared in numerous other productions and has made a name for herself in the New England Film Community.
Aside from performing, Vlaco has been the location manager for Family Problems. She has supplied several locations for the production – including the police station/church studio. They are also filming Testing in her home. She has also been a financial contributor, having donated to almost all the productions.
The James R. Zuckerman Special Achievement Award is given to a member of the Angelwood Pictures family that helps to enhance Angelwood Pictures’ productions and the experience. Not only has her support been a major impact on the production, but she is also an extremely positive person who is very caring to everyone. She always brings a special energy that can make anyone feel better.
During the awards, there will be a special video presentation highlighting her work and feature a ‘special guest’ presenter.
The James R. Zuckerman Special Achievement Award is dedicated to Seth Chitwood’s (Creative Director) Grandfather – who passed away in 2012. Zuckerman was a huge supporter of the arts and to Chitwood’s many accomplishments.
Last year, Mary Hronicek received the James R. Zuckerman Special Achievement Award for her set designs in Family Problems, Lungs, and In the Bedroom.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 3, at The RISD Museum (20 North Main Street, Providence, Rhode Island). The event will start at 5:30 PM with a red carpet arrival and cocktail hour. The awards are scheduled for 7:00 PM – 11:30 PM. Hosted By Frank O’Donnell.
