Jordan Illyssa Angelo, original co-founder of Angelwood Pictures, graduated from Marquette University this Sunday with a degree in Broadcasting & Film.
“I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate Jordan on graduating from Marquette today. I am so proud of her. She has taken another HUGE step in her life and has done it with nothing but great success.
In 2007, I met Jordan while working on our High School production of The Wizard of Oz. Jordan was asked to run lines with me. I was playing the cowardly lion. We instantly didn’t really become friends….. BUT, flash forward six months later, when I asked Jordan to help me with a web series I wanted to start called The Dreamer. We joined forces and created the company Angelwood Pictures; which paired our last names ANGELO and CHITWOOD.
Since then, we worked together on numerous projects over the years, such as; Margaret and Them. But we mostly have been a backboard for each other to discuss ideas, give feedback to one another, or just vent about production.
Because she was off studying in Milwaukee for a major part of the past four years, she has regrettably not been a huge part of Angelwood Pictures. But I always strangely kept the ‘Angelwood’ name because I kind of wanted Jordan to always be a piece of my work. She was the first person in my life (aside from my family) that began this production journey with me and continues to always sort of be at my side literally and figuratively.
She is my “Grace”, as I’m her “Will”. She is probably the only one in the world (even including my family) that knows me. She IS my other sister. We share brains. No, joke. No really. There is no distance and no amount of time in between phone calls that could destroy our friendship.
So thank you, Jordan! Thank you for always being there for me.
I am so proud of her today! She graduated and accomplished so much during her time at Marquette. Her college years have shaped her into an even more focused, smarter, and dedicated filmmaker. She recently finished a short film called Gone Postal, and I could NOT be more proud. It was magnificent.
Congratulations, Jordan on graduating! I cannot wait to see you when you get back! I hope we can return to physically working on projects together again. Especially, now that you have a “film and broadcasting degree” brain. Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! I love you.” — Seth Chitwood, creative director
