Angelwood Pictures’ 'Listening In' Short Film Launches Into Festival Run

Angelwood Pictures is thrilled to announce that its latest short film, “Listening In,” is set to embark on an exciting festival run!

Originally created as part of the New Bedford Film Festival’s NB48: Filmmaking Challenge, this 2025 comedy brings together a talented cast and crew for a sharp, witty exploration of secrets and misunderstandings.

“Listening In” follows a well-meaning reverend struggling to provide therapeutic guidance to his parishioners, only to be consistently sabotaged by his meddlesome, eavesdropping secretary.

Starring David S. Hopcroft, Maureen Vlaco, Andrea Borges, Curtis Reid, Alicia Radcliffe, Garry Medeiros, Robert Mahowald, Amy Lezama, and Ethan de Aguiar, this charming comedy promises plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments.

Directed and filmed by Dan Goldsmith, with Curtis Reid producing, Seth Chitwood and Mark Anthony Hardy penning the screenplay, and a hardworking crew behind the camera, “Listening In” is a testament to fast and collaborative filmmaking.

The team is deeply grateful for the support and camaraderie found at the New Bedford Film Festival, and especially wishes to thank The First Unitarian Church in New Bedford for their vital role in the production. The short film is in collaboration with Shoot the Moon Films and Tulip & Stone Media.

As the film sets forth on its festival journey, Angelwood Pictures is excited to bring “Listening In” to broader audiences. It won its first award for Best Ensemble during the NB48 awards on April 12.

Stay tuned for updates on festival screenings and awards—and don’t miss your chance to experience this delightful comedy! For more behind-the-scenes stories and updates on “Listening In,” follow Angelwood Pictures on social media or visit our website.
